So, this was 1988, Oakes College at the University of California, Santa Cruz (I mean just look a those beat-ass cars). I visited the campus a few months ago and found that this oak in the Oakes circle was gone. That's the bad news. Maybe it was just too many years of kids in their underwear climbing up there. Oh, and yes, that is Big Dave Wave up top.But, the good news, is there's a nice shiny-new cell tower on the roof of Oakes classroom 105:
