A lot of people probably don't know that he was one of your role models. I see a lot of him in your personality. Any thoughts on the recent events? | | |

It's because it's not that big of a scandal, and this is a role model from long ago.

Ty: Good question and an even better observation, Dave Dave. In fact, the whole "Ask Ty..." premise is based on Letterman, obviously, from "good question and an even better observation" to "just a guess." Obviously. I should have guessed it sooner, Dave Dave.
Role models. To borrow from the good Rev. Jeremiah Wright, God bless the role model. No, no, no, not God
bless the role model. God
damn the role model! As I've discussed, role models are everywhere; role models are every one. Role modeling is probably not exclusively a binary occurring phenomenon where you have either an all positive role model or an all negative role model. But role modeling, like most things, most likely happens along a flexible and fluid scale. And as with any scale there are outliers, right Adolph?
Daivd Letterman. Or, "Dave!" The gentleman's probably influenced a great many people in good ways. But he's also a jerk and has probably turned-off a great many as well. And he sleeps around with his employees for whatever that's worth. Like I said, role modeling occurs on a flexible and fluid scale.
And to answer your question, Dave Dave, regarding my thoughts on so-called "recent events," here's my piece/peace: Ya' know what? I'll tell you what. To paraphrase "
Joseph" from the TeeVee: Dave's not no bitch! Blackmail? Really?! Okay, take your shot. To directly quote a good friend of mine, "Can you fuckin' believe the
size of his nuts?"
Pop quiz: What is the first law of the hustle? What is the first law of the grift? You can't game a gamer. Letterman knows that sometimes the best way to fight a fire is to punch it straight in the mouth. What?! He was having an affair? Yeah. His business. But to try to take $2 million of the man's hard earned money because of the man's insecurity manifestations? Okay, take your shot, Robert Joel Halderman.
Game knows game, my friends. You look in the camera and you
don't say, "depends on what the meaning of 'is' is" you say, "This morning, I did something I've never done in my life, I had to go downtown to testify before the grand jury and tell them all of the creepy things that I've done." You fess. You jump in front of the pitch. Claim your prize.
And yes--even though we know no details--Letterman probably is quite creepy. I am not defending his private indiscretions. I don't really give a shit about off camera. But you know what? Like Charles Barkley pleading guilty on his DUI, I admire a person who simply doesn't stand in their own way.
To the Mr. Halderman's of the world...you know what? Dave's not no bitch, don. If you're going to bring some game, bring it big. Or go home. Check mate...your "world is about to collapse around" you.
Just a guess,
-ty
